Paying homage to the brown ribbon winner for the Abandoned challenge. This is a different house than the one submitted by mbrutus2009. Not sure if it DNMC.

Post Processing: Tone mapped image originating from 2 RAW files converted into 4 JPEG files with +2 EV spacing.
-Increased Black clip 100%
-Increased White clip 20%
Contrast raised +7
Levels raised +4
finally a few rounds of USM, one before resizing, one after. Bordered and saved for web @ 197KB.

Odd lighting on this, or maybe it's the weathered wood? The bottom half is so much brighter than the top half, and it doesn't look like shadows.

In the sense that both images are abandoned residential structures, you are responding to the challenge. You're taking a very different approach (the whole vs a detail) that may or may not be an improvement. Technically this one's far superior, the original was a mess, so that's a plus.

Speaking of this image's merits independent of "deja vu" considerations, I am wishing you had taken the effort to even out the lighting on the top a little bit, and the cropping is uncomfortably tight for me. The B/W conversion is very nice. A 6 for now.
