I cropped it and added contrast. I'm sure a lot of people will do this habit, but it was fun to see my pinky in excrutiatingly close-up detail. kind of gross. didn't realize that my habit was so bad! Little blurry, but I'm still exploring the possibilities of my camera and haven't been able to get a perfect focus yet. Also, due to the fact that I haven't been able to keep a steady hand in years, there is a glare from the flash.

I think this is a very persuasive shot to convince someone that nail-biting is an unappealing habit. There are some small details that detract from the photo though - a softer light would mean less reflection on the nail, which I think would help with the detail/contrast on the photo as while. There are some things in the background, those white blotches that detract from the main subject - a more neutral background would have helped. There seems to be a little hair or thread at the top of the finger as well which doesn't seem to need to be there. The textures you captured and colors are great - I like the swollen red parts around the cuticle.

Too high-key. Makes it look more like an autopsy shot that an entry of artistic merit. And the more chewed nails I see in this competition, it makes me feel that it's the _action_ that's the habit, not the result.

Other than the gross-out factor, there is nothing visually interesting or pleasing about this close-up of a finger.

disgusting and with the blue background it looks like coming from a book of pathology.

I think this theme would work better if you showed a person biting their nails. Would maje for a more accessible image. Without the title it wouldn't be an obvious theme.

Color & clarity a bit off. The hair stuck on the finger is distracting too.
