This is good; you've stuck real close to the original's theme and produced a MUCH more appealing image, exactly what the challenge asks for, so props for that. I'm also enjoying how you cut away all the tangle from the foreground, where it is a negative, and then used it in the sky, in silhouette form, where it becomes a positive! That's very nice work :-)
Judging this as an image in its own right, it's pleasing to me but no more than that. I like the rendering of the sky colors and the clarity of the whole thing, but compositionally it's a bit pat. In a normal challenge I'd give it a 6, but I'm going 7 here because of how you flipped the tangle so effectively, instead of just eliminating it altogether. |
