It was a blustery day at the dog park, we were the only ones, and Hoover, my 1yr black lab, thought it was bloody fantastic that I was in the snow taking pictures of the flora.

I later ended up sprawled on my back because he is a 70lb monster that has barely any breaks

Fabulous shot of a guy with a ton of energy. I have a chocolate, he is ninety pounds now at 8 years old... yet the energy remains. Anyone who has ever known or loved a lab can fill in the blanks of that face. Or, you could pull out photoshop and do a bit of dodging... personally I think the near silhouette quality of this pic is sort of cool.

For your own personal enjoyment, I hope you can blow this up huge and put it on your wall to bring smiles to everyone who sees it for the next thirty years.

Great picture, but doesn't realy pass as a portrait.
It could have done better if the face and eyes where visible, but on my monitor I only see a black outline with a tongue on snow.

Too bad you can't see any features in the dogs face. Fill flash would help this.

Not so much a portrait - lacks detail - black animals are hard to get a good picture of - I like the action though.
