We lost our unborn child almost a year ago. Today I was taking pictures in my house and a song came on that reminded me of the pain. I guess it was a bit theraputic to capture it on camera, but I don't know if I'll ever heal completely.

I was one of your 8's. I really connected with this picture - I recognise that look of pain. I lost my Mum just over a year ago, she was only 57. I'm sorry to hear of your baby.

this is a great portrait, very much underrated. the DOF is great. The mood really transpires and one can see that the subject is grieving. The negative space on top supports the general mood.

light is good and good composition, it seems to be blurry and has a snap shot look to it

From the thumb, there's a little Brad Pitt in that face. Love the catch lights in his eyes and the slight tilt, to create a diagonal line. I might have the same amount of negative space below and above his face.
