 Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and comments.

This is amazing! It took 1 year to get the 1st ribbon, 3.5 years to get the second, and now another ribbon in a week. I'm in shock.

With all the snow we've had, I thought of the silence of falling snow - but it's tough to photograph. Maybe a cotton on cotton, a marshmallow on cotton, and with that came a feather on cotton and finally a feather on feathers. My head was stuck around the white objects, so even though I tried it with a colored feather, I liked the white on white.

I did try it with more contrast, but liked the high key image better.

I thought I saw you here not long ago. Well congratulations. I think the subject and rendition (White-on-white, Soft focus, etc.) made this fit the Challenge theme even more. Try some more B/W.

Beautiful shot - I immediately pictured it with a white kitten trying to catch falling feathers - now there would be another lovely shot too - you have captured a lovely range of gentle tones from near white to mid/darker gray, and how delightful an image -very well done

it's always so peaceful when it's raining feathers. i like to sit out on the porch and enjoy the stillness and calm. (until the wind starts blowing)

Very quiet, very nice. I like that you went with a bright image, as most are equating silence with darkness. Very nice image.

Absolutely beautiful shot and I love the lighting and the lightness of it all. I know that feathers falling don't make a sound but the image conveys to me more a feeling of softness and lightness then silence.

If the theme had been "Softness,Gentleness or Lightness" I would have given it a 9 or maybe even a 10.
Still it's very well done and comes close enough to conveying the idea of silence as well to deserve an 8.

Beautiful tones, textures & lighting. This is one of my favorites in this challenge as I can't hear anything except silence from this frame (excluding a sneeze shortly after shooting).

THis is actually quite a sweet image - but its doesnt feel `contrasty` enough.. Such a shame as I reckon you could of done VERY well with this.. still giving it a 7.
