Great image. Very nicely composed and I love the Black & White. |

I really, really like this. In fact, I shall favorite it henceforth or herewith or whatever. Would have worked very well in "Gray", too, methinks. (And no, I haven't been reading old English authors, but I have been taking cold medication!) |

Something very interesting about the presence of the bench. I'm not sure why, but it's intriguing.

Oh, I was QUITE joking! :)
This had nothing to do with the nit-pick thread....take a look at some of the comments Michelle has left on my shots! ;-) It's a bit of "revenge". :) |

Well...
The twigs in the ground distract me. The bench distracts me. I know they must have been horribly noisy, walking on that snow. The shadows or footprints in the background take my eyes away from the ducks. It's too messy a shot. Too bad you couldn't have cut the bolts off the bottom of the bench...they distract me. Looks over processed. I wish the ducks had have been facing us. They're not symetrical. The footprints beside them distract me. There's a bit of a tilt to the bench...woulda been better if had have been level. They should have all had their heads going in the same direction...too bad you couldn't have trained them.
IMHO..........
just doesn't do it for me.
:P
Ahhhhh......got that out of my system LOL!!!!
Cute shot, Mich!

Lovely image and the blanketed snow conveys a feeling of silence. Good composition also and nice contrast, detail and tones. 8 |

This is a really great image, the exposure is dead on and the composition is really nice. I do have to say that I don't really get the feel of silence though. I hear the sound of crunching snow, perhaps a honk. It's really pleasant, but not silent. Great image, though!

ok, someone on a forum just went back and review and rescored. So I'm doing the same thing. I really liked this the first time around, but I decided that I really, really liked it this time. I'm wondering if it would have been better waiting for them to go by and getting the bench out of the shot... I keep going back and forth on that... |

"Walk," my father used to say.
"Don't talk."
"Words," my father used to say,
"scare birds."

Love it. Kind of a reverse take on the poem. Nicely done. BOL
A little more contrast and this would have worked for the AA challenge as well. |

I do not understand, in my modest opinion, the link with the silence, at least not so clear. |

'Walk, don't Talk' would have worked better.
Nonetheless, I do like this - there is soemthing quirky about it (what are they doing there anyway) that really does help convey silence. 7. |
