 We spent the entire day scoping sites. The weather was completely abysmal (i.e. flat, boring), but we persisted hoping for the perfect light. We came back to this location and had about 10 minutes of great light. There were several trees like this palm around, but this one was special because it was a memorial to a little 11 year old girl who had died in 2000. It seemed a perfect place to remember someone. In the foreground is a little plague filled with shells and her name.

Hi from the critique club!

Composition/Content - For me, the composition could be improved ever so slightly. I'd opt for a wider view... that is, more of a panoramic crop
Background - A little too much bright sky which is making the foreground appear darker than it is. the vignette effect is a bit distracting to me.

Camera Work Technical - Creatively and compositionally this image is substantially more than a snapshot. focus is good.
Digital Processing - Technical - I'm not sure what i'd do differently. Nothing strikes me negatively or significantly positively.

Opinion - I enjoy looking at the shot. and think it is a lovely idea for a memorial.

This isn't one of my favourites, although its still a good shot. The composition isn't there to really set this one on fire. 6.

It's well done... really... but I find myself saying... "ho hum". Colors are good, composition is good... Perhaps it's the strong light on the tree trunk base... I dunno...
