| One of the great things about this photo is that, well aside from the entire photo, you can see the small sun in the distance. I really like the postprocessing you did on this photo. With the path the road takes, and the fog/clouds that are in the sky, i really like this. This photo actually is a bit motivating because on this site there is often only photos with pretty blue skys. Well, you beat it. congrats on your ribbon! |

Seeing your other shots to arrive at this, I am so impressed with what you have done to it. I am cheered to think that I may be able to rescue some shots I thought were not maybe worth the effort.

The warm tones moderate the bleak landscape. this makes the image beautifully interpretive, something like a Van Gogh painting.

I am glad that sharpening technique worked well for you. I am trying it out in the FS. Does wonders for those small details. For those interested it is exactly what Deb says.
Resize your image to 1000-1500 pixels.
Run Filter->Sharpen, 1 to 3 times.
Resize to DPC dimensions. Thats it! |

| Lovely shot and mood with the horizon and road. Clouds and sun make it pretty dismal for the tree that wishes he had a mate too like the ones down the road. Colors look almost antique - like a picture from the past. |

| I like how the road bends our eye around that tree and back to the two in the background. I like the sun behind the clouds too. This is nicely composed. I wonder if some will detract because of the other two in the background. I hope not. This is nice. :~) |
