This shot doesn't really have anything that grabs you or holds your interest. I think it could be down to 2 things. The angle you have taken the shot isn't great, I think from a little lower down would have helped, though perhaps you were avoiding that for the background. The second is the way you have converted it to B&W, it looks like a straight forward de-saturation, which as well as removing colour has also removed any real life from the shot.
Experiment with B&W conversions, there is a million different ways of doing it. I personally like Nik Software Silver Efx Pro but I'm sure there's loads of others out there you can try as well. |

| Very boring subject. At least if you choose this type of subject, try taking the photo from a different angle, such as lower, etc. |
