You're not kidding! Well, at least 1 person actually got what I was going for. I suppose that means that I wasn't very successful. Yes, I do realise that shooting f1.8 will give very little depth of field and I enjoy playing with that - I obviously wasn't able to pull it off very well. |

Watch that setting of F1.8, it has almost NO depth of field at that aperture and such a close range. |

Seems like a snapshot I'm afraid. The depth of field is very shallow, and the narrow range of focus does not seem to be where it needs to be. The lighting from the side is also blowing out a lot of detail on her cheek, while the rest of her face is in shadows. I don't know what your shot settings were, but I am guessing that a narrower f-stop and maybe a different direction for the lighting could have helped. Hard to know for sure without knowing details, however. |
