I loved the composition of this shot when I saw it. Living in Rhode Island, this is a very familiar scene to me. I can actually 'feel' it from this photo; the way the sand feels at this time of day; wonderfully cool, gritty, and hard under your bare feet. My dogs will wade through these little inlets, whereas the waves intimidate them. I think the only reason I didn't vote higher was I felt the birds were a bit too speck-like. If I had been voting then the way I do now (I go back and revise when I'm done voting) I probably would have upped my score. As it is, I was one of your more generous voters. :-D |

People a weird at this site.
I like this shot. It's good to look at, in particular the colours, the shiny blue contrasted to the darkish purplish/brown/gray of the sand, and the specks of white. |

An unfortunate placing for a beautiful minimalistic shot. Simple, lovely light. |

There's another oceanside shot with colors and lines reminiscent of this shot. I like it very much as an abstract. |

Highly reminiscent of the work of Zeus Zen, only I'm moderately convinced he would have presented it in black and white. Very interesting work: not completely convinced about keeping the flying bird right of frame, but the water there is definitely a useful compositional element - difficult decision, I'd guess. |

Very dark, but intersting idea. I wish the photo showed some more of the horizon to help orient ourselves. I like the composition for the most part, and if you didn't want to show the horizon, you did a good job with the composing to keep it out.. I wish it were brighter though. |

for me, this image is to dark ... also the ilumination is very uneven (why? was this on purpose?) |

My primary problem with this is my inability to determine what I'm looking at. Because the image is so dark, my brain is convinced that there's something I am supposed to see here. Without being able to determine what I'm supposed to be seeing, it's tough for me to make constructive comments. |

The mysteriousness of the image - due to the underexposure - makes you study it. Unfortunately, there not much going on in the bottom half of the frame. |

Why is the sand so dark? Ok that sounded stupid! This is a moonlit night shot with a few flashlight enhanced areas on a long exposure I'm guessing? Intriguing effect, good composition, I would have shone the flashlight longer in some areas. |

Wonderful colors and interestingly abstract image. Hard to tell if this fits the topic. Is it something you've never photographed in a place you've never been? I'm gonna take your word for that. |
