Hi Yanik,

Greetings from the Critique Club! I concur with all of the positive statements below!

In this image, which must be new to you--and which subject you should obviously approach more often now!--I see a wonderful dock that has a few contradictions that I find wonderful. First, the parallel lines ell me that there is order here--or that order is the pattern. Then there are those elements that are out of place: the crooked things that your title underscores. Your point of view, focus, and your composition all enhance the image's contrasts well, and the communication is very clear.

Your choice of b/w is also good. It seems to enhance the patterns further, with no distracting colors to get in our way. Again, clear communication.

This is an excellent photo. I'm adding it to my favorites when I'm finished.

Thanks for the opportunity to see it in greater detail! Keep up the consistently excellent work that you do!

David

Great use of light and reflection. Black and white serves this photo well.

way to spot a good picture. I love the desaturation, too.

Very noce - too bad the entrance door had to be there...

Wow, a glass door to nowhere! I love it. The horizon line seems a tad off, and the lighting is a bit bright. The tones are beautiful (sepia) and the subject is fascinating. The composition is also very nice.

Nice composition, attractive texture. Black and white works well, but the picture seems very contrasty, with no detail in the shadows.

Could be construed as over-exposed, but I like it. Nice composition.

interesting to say the least... black and white works well here and probably makes the shot as good as it is... nice job

This is a very intriguing view.. so sharp and clear, and I love the subtle sepia toning of the photograph. Beautiful work.

Nice photograph, glad it's not in color...don't think I would have liked this one in color. Good job.

Only a true photographer could capture an image like this. It is a very nice sepia and make the place seem alone and forgotten for the moment.

This is a very odd picture, I like it! I like the contrast between the soft smooth of the water and sky and the hard smooth of the man-made materials. I like all the lines. The b/w is well done. I like the little buildings on the horizon at the top left. I'm sitting here wondering, "What in the world is door D doing on that pier?" Good work.

I love the toning and the stillness of the water. The light off the water really brings out the shadows of the docks. The crooked pier gives it a somewhat illusionary feel like those moving staircases in funhouses. Nicely captured with an interesting subject!
