Friendly fellow. I gave him $5 for a photograph, this is him saying thanks for the money.

Single overlay for some subtle texture. Something different for me.

Excellent processing to bring out the grittiness of it all. And good for you to stop and talk to him and take his picture.

Oh wow! He looks like someone I would have stopped and approached to take his picture :) That's why I like it so much. But I'm betting. . .he's gonna put that $5 to gooood use, don't you? :) But nice of him to work for such cheap modeling fees, huh?

I think the comments here are right. No stylised or romanticised stuff. And I very much like that you gave him some money, now I don't have to feel mean about looking at his picture.

I think the partially obstructed eyes actually help this shot. Makes it feel more downtrodden.

Wonderful processing as has been mentioned. I also think the direct, harsh light works well in this instance. Will you be trying this new approach again, do you think?

PAW - I like the DOF. This guy looks like he's had some hard times and I'm sure he appreciated a few bucks for the shot. I just saw Robert Plant on the Grammies and this guy kind of looks like him, but cuter. I guess for a 60 year old hard rocker Robert doesn't look so bad either.

Like the subject and the treatment - just one little nit - the shadows above his head kinda look like his hair!

The processing definitely goes with the subject.

Full of character and interest. I do like the processing quite a bit, really seems to not let the subject down.

He looks like a nice fellow. Light is a tad harsh but when shooting "street" stuff, you shoot in the conditions you get!

I like the processing here. Great environment portrait. Eyes are not clearly visible.

The processing really "suits" the subject in this one.
