 Michael at Pure Design had some hyacinths. Tried this in a nice short glass base....did not quite work. Went with it on its own. It the bulb of the plant is sitting on a pronged pedestal covered by the roots and dirt. This was on my light box with white poster board on either side and top. The background is some wall paper Michael gave me as well. Ambient light from the light box and some ambient room light.

I'll put the processing up later but wanted to note that the background and subject were edited separated and the background is solely a result of auto levels.

love the background. Light falls off a little too much at the top but the colors are perfect and the sharpness excellent for subject.

Looks like you took some time to make an indoors photo look like outside. Some strangeness going on down in the roots though - to me.

I love that we can see the roots from the bulb. I don't care much for the background, it feels too dramatic for me when combined with the low angle and the lighting.

The isolation of the bulb is a bit clumsy (I can see the feathering), but overall I like it.
