FYI - just because it was your first, doesn't make it new. and despite that, the challenge was supposed to be about photographing something for the first time. somehow i doubt this was the first shot you took of your own barn. but i'm not docking points, just sayin' |

very nice in sepia...this angle is OK but I would have move just a bit more to either side and pulled back just a little so that the right side of the barn does not seem so crowed in the frame. |

The burnt-out sky is such an obvious problem here - and seems to be a simple case of dynamic range being unable to cope with the scene you wanted to capture - and the only solution? A different time of day, or different weather ... Also, I'm not completely certain about your framing of the image - those buildings to the left, cutting them off - perhaps you could have afforded to include more of the context here, rather than so blatantly concentrating on the barn alone? The cut off of those sheds unbalances the image a bit, for me. |

Nice job with soft focus! Might be the lighting contributing to that but it still works. Good cropping and it looks good in sepia. Only problem are some vertical lines and curves on the dome of the silo have jaggies. |

Really nice composition. Good use of sepia. It's a bit overexposed. Notice the lack of details in the shadows. It would be nice to see more of that tractor, for instance. The sky is blown way out. I gave it a six. |

Nice soft colors, if the sky was more interesting it would've helped. |

Seems a little overly bright on the top. There is no detail in the sky at all (may not have been or may have been clouds). That contrasts with the fine detail of the road and weeds to create a discontinuity that is a bit distracting. |

Overcast skies are always unfortunate but I think it goes with the sepia tone that you've chosen. It's a good shot, but I just dont get much wow factor from it. Compositions of large buildings from up close can be difficult, and I think you likely got the best angle of it that you could. |
