I am not a car buff at all, but I seem to do pretty good with car shots. I have a theory that because I am not a car buff, I see the play of the shapes and details instead of the whole vehicle. I think my best tend to be these detail shots, often what I think of as semi-abstract views.

I'm really pleased with the smoothness in this one. Even more so considering this was taken in the photographically lousy midday sun. Interesting thing, however, is this one printed terribly.

Pre-challenge notes:
Freeestudies are tough, and with this being the yearly super-freestudy, I won't be surprised with a lower third placement. An average vote of a mid 5 or better would be nice though.

Post-challenge notes:
Very pleased with how this one did. For a little while, I had hopes of a new PB, but it still hit the #3 spot on my profile page and placed fairly high. I got some very nice comments from some of my own favorites on this site. That's always a good thing.

This has always been one of my favorite automotive shots. The blue tones and the abstract shapes are awesome. Top it off with the killer sharp Corvette emblem and you have a top notch photo.

losing this one off your profile page must have been a bitter-sweet experience. (I saw your comment in the HDR 2 thread where you were contemplating the possibility). It's an enduringly great shot.

I'm glad I have a great monitor. It would be a shame to miss any of the colours and tones. Great lines too! Very sweet shot!

Someone's been on a roll lately -- Keep up the good work. Might be time to retire that shoehorn, get serious, and start collecting ribbons. Nahhhhh! Stay here with us mere mortals, the beer is better.

Aside from not having a shoehorn in it and an border that is way too small, this photo is top notch.

Excellence ~ Simple Irresistible... What did it have for POWER? looks to be the bigblock by the bulge starting in the upper reaches of the photo...
