 Taken as the sun peeped through incoming rain clouds this morning - just one of those moments when you know the light is quite special. I reckon this may get knocked down as it is so similar in concept to philup's winning shot in the last challenge, although not as good nor as creative. But I liked it a lot so thought I would give it a chance. The location is the Quantock Hills in Somerset ..the shot is taken from Staple Plain looking across to Bicknoller.

Although I shot in RAW and JPEG, I only worked on the JPEG file. Fixed aspect ratio crop, levels and curves, resized, added stroke border and saved for the web.

This is Kari Ann, greetings from the Critique Club:

composition: the tree, hikers and hill are all placed pleasingly in the composition. enough sky to make me smile.

color: The enchanting pinks, yellows, and reds play a vital role in the image, making memories of childhoods long ago

contrast: a little more contrast in the sky would have been nice, but the creamy flow of them also is pleasing, either way.

focus: great sharp focus on the hill and elements

depth of field:good

lighting: your right, it was one of those moment when you know the light is quite special. this is exceptional lighting, great find

other: overall, a very achieving image, i wish it would have scored higher. the hikers remind me of us her in everyday life, traveling to the ends of our hills, going where we have never gone before, seeking the beauty, and embracing nature. i hope this was helpful to you, if you have any further questions feel free to PM me.

I think it would have been much more dramatic if there were more color in the clouds, if that would have been possible. As is, I really like the low clouds hanging out in the sky - it's a nice capture.

I love the clouds, especially the one on the left side. It's like coming down on them. The sky colour is nice too. Where is this place?

Gorgeous pink tones here and some excellent silhouettes. If this were my shot I would have made the silhouettes even darker to really contrast with the sky.
