 This is one ugly photo. Ugly and real.

While I was in Nicaragua in December, I visited Parque de Paz (Peace Park), where after the Civil War had ended, the soliders encased their guns in concrete as a sign of peace.

This place is now deserted, frequented only by street children and prostitutes. The woman in this picture is most likely a prostitute who had overdosed on huffing glue.

While in Nicaragua, we saw some of the most beautiful scenes we had ever seen; we also some of the ugliest. This is one of them.

I'm certainly not shooting for a high score with this one, but some photos just need to be shown. If I get some 9's and 10's, and some 1's and 2's, then I know that this photo has impacted it's viewers. And isn't that what photography is supposed to do?

i think if her foot had not been desat then it would have popped, nice leading colour to the body

Very cool shot with lots of emotion. The only thing that really throws this one off is the appearance her feet were desaturated. Good luck in the challenge.

Sort of an Escher-esque effect. Can't tell if the steps are going up or down - and I like that. Good, dramatic shot.
