Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh Sensor dust and it's an Open challenge. I've had my 10D for a year and haven't cleaned the sensor yet. I really have to look it up.

Ah well, I had fun shooting this. Had caught a little bee in a jar yesterday and it had died. Found this fly that was pretty sluggish ... wouldn't fly away. It just kinda stood around. I figured it would make an interesting set up. The fly kept playing with the dead bee so it was easy enough to shoot.

I set up my Canon 420EX to the left flat on it's side with an Omnibounce and the Canon 550EX to the right flat on its side. Fired both flashes with a wireless trasmitter (Canon ST-E2).

Almost a full frame ... made a 8x10 ratio crop out of the 4x6 ratio frame.

Fascinating capture! I love the detail, all the hais and translucence of the wings. The dirt and dust is a little distracting but not enough to lower the score (could easily be fixed w/clone but not under open challenge rules)

Very nice macro image. I'm curious on what camera and lens you used for this shot.

Superb macro shot - loads of detail. Exposue right on. The only minor point is the few pieces of dirt/hair on the background area - but that's very minor. Great submission.

Very good picture, but you're beating us over the head with the title. We get it. Anyway, nicely done picture.

Amazing capture. I'll never understand how people manage to find these crawlers in action. :)

Is that a dead bee, and is that fly eating it?? That's an enormous fly. This is a good shot, and I gave you a 10 for it. Poor little bee though!
