 This is my very first setup shot. Usually I just point and shoot at something I happen to come across. This was set up with very low-cost materials: tupperware, a cutting board, red tissue paper, an ice cube, and a pepper that cost a penny!

Post-shot adjustments: levels, dust and scratches, cropped

Other notes: I didn't use a bright red pepper because the store didn't have any. I did try an orange habanero pepper, and I did try diffrent base colors for both peppers. I came out with quite a few photos that I liked, and it was really tough choosing which one to submit. My next choice was the orange pepper on top of the ice with a white base color.

I like the use of color, the Red vs Blue, is just like the Hot vs Cold. Good choices. Your lighting of the pepper is good, I would have liked to see a pepper that was a different color, I don't know. I do like the way that the Ice interacts with the background and the tissue paper it is sitting on.
As this is your second entry you are doing good, you are getting a better score on your shots and I hope to see more shots.

I like the idea of this shot very much. The colors are a little too much on the fantastic side - perhaps it's the background. The focus and composition are quite nice, I love the texture of the pepper and the curve of it with the stem.

I like the subject of the picture, I don't really know about the choice of the background. Something solid would maybe look neat.

Catchy title, made me chuckle. Great selection of colors - but it would be more effective if the chili manitained a dark crisp green instead of the muted yellowish green. The way the red is bouncing around in the ice is really tremendous.

The idea is pretty good but maybe not very well performed. The image seems pixalated or grainy and the background dont seems very interesting. Think this is the type of photography that needs very shallow DOF and whats in focus has to be very sharp but smooth.

I like the idea, and thought of doing something myself. I decided it was to difficult and gave up! I don't mind the noise but people will hammer you for it. Not sure about the blue background but I'm sure you had your reasons... good job.

Very creative idea. I like how the Chilly contrasts the ice, as well at the red and blue in the background. However the setup/quality could be better. 7
