You can put lipstick on a pig.......lol Very cute shot. Maybe more of a bottom crop to pull the eye to the hat. |

a shallower DOF would have helped separate the subject from the background, IMO. |

Lighting works for the flowers but it makes the pig appear flat from the neck down. |

Could this be Miss Piggy of Sesame Street fame? I like the contrast of the colorful hat and the monochrome pig. A cloudier day, or another time of day, might have helped to reduce the harsh shadows and bring out more detail in the pig's face. |

I gave this a four. The pig sculpture is whimsical enough without the hat, which reduces it to 'cutesy pie-ness" (a matter of taste, I know). In terms of technical details, the framing is good and keeps the subject simple. The depth of field needs to be shallower to blur the background which is very busy looking in terms of texture. The pig is a bit overexposed. The textural details of the concrete are quite washed out except for the part of it that received less sunlight. The lighting has an overall harsh quality. |

It's a cute idea and the animal with hat works well. The background could be fuzzed out a bit more to make the photograph even more effective. |
