Beautiful girl, nice pose, and wonderful composition. I do tend to agree with Jo and the suggestion to going to higher f-stop to allow for more DOF to improve the focus on the girl throughout the image. Really nice work though. |

Composition: Her positioning in the frame is lovely.
Lighting/Exposure: I love the warm light on her that feels like a sunset. I am not sure why you chose f1.8? Unless it's a really close up photo, it causes too much to be out of focus for a portrait.
Pose: I really like the way you have her posed here. However, she looks a little stiff holding it :)
Suggestions for Improvements: Higher f-stop. Even at 3.5 you are still going to get that beautiful bokeh in the bg. When posing a child, explain to them what you want them to do, then let them rest for a moment (break down the pose) and have them go back into it naturally. With a kid this age, she will remember what position you had her in :)
That little girl is just adorable. Her smile is so winning :) |

I agree with all that's been said so far, and absolutely love that bokeh! Perhaps you could have faced her more into the sun to get a bit more light on her face. I find that facing the model directly into the sun works really well (see my Day 2). I also may have had her bring her leg back into the shot, it leads me out of the frame. |

agree with stupidcat on all accounts, save one. i wish her eyes and her face were lighter, so that we could see more of that cute little personality she's got. And also, her left hand (her left) is a bit too forced for this type of shot.
but, overall, i love the personality you captured, and nice light. |

I like the lighting and the color. The crop is good and the model is great. |
