 I really don't think the sand adds anything to this image, but by the time I had acquired the sand, cooked the scallops and set everything up, I wasn't about to not enter it, and the sand was the key to the challenge.

Editing:

-Combined 2 bracketed exposures as layers in Photoshop (selected and erased relevant portions)
-Reduced saturation on a drop of sauce that has spilled on the napkin
-Cloned out an imperfection in the foreground shell
-Adjusted color curves independently on the two exposures.
-Auto levels
-Hue/Saturation
-Used Sharpen tool on the foreground
-Image Size and Save for Web

Hope it doesn't seem like too much of a shoehorn, but the challenge description really does only say to include sand, not make it the subject.
