This is an excellent and thought provoking portrait. It is Carravagio who comes to my mind because of the strong tonality and the golden hue. |

Van Gogh came to mind. I don't know why
This is excellent. The harshness of the lighting/shadow contrast is really powerful. |

a really good use of side lighting in low key to emphasize the eyes and mouth - really works great in color |

I really like the high contrast in this and the frightened look goes well with that. I have never seen the video in question, but Im guessing it would explain the pencil. |

Love your light, pose and the idea! Top work! Sometimes what you don't show is what makes the shot! |

Great shot! Very gothic looking, seems to have a story behind it. I like the dramatic lighting and mood. |

Composition: I love your placement in the frame. It is very interesting. Good use of rule of thirds.
Lighting/Exposure: Though the message you are trying to convey comes through, it is just a bit on the contrasty side for me and a wee bit dark overall.
Pose: If it weren't for the pose and setup here, I would be a bit lost as to what you were trying to convey. As it is, this is just a perfect example of a re-creation metaphor. Your expression is perfect. Very nicely posed!
Suggestions for Improvements: There are a couple of hot pixels here. One by your hand, three in the chin area, and one in the eye area. Dunno if you saw them :) A generally lighter image which really comes down to personal preference and lighting choices. Again, just a tad too dark for me.
I look forward to seeing more of your work. :) |

I quite LOVE incubus, amazing band, and they have such meaning behind their songs. Great imitation of the music video, i really like the look in your eye as well, very strong. |

I usually tend to prefer black and white, but in this case, I believe you nailed it. The color and the lighting are spot on. I love the dark look and the color really adds to this. Fantastic work! |

You look so frightened, so unsure. You seem to want to use the pencil to remake yourself, but don't know where to begin or how to proceed so you're paralyzed for the moment. At least that's how I interpret this. The light is excellent, especially the way it hits your hand and the pencil. Excellent work! |

All I can say is "Wow!" This is outstanding.
Lighting is perfect and I'm happy you kept it in color. The expression for the occasion couldn't be better but what I particularly like is that there are things happening here that leave me in thought. Why the pencil and what are you doing with it? Are you looking in a mirror? What is the purpose? It's all good!
The only thing that is a little irritating is a little white pixel over your left eye. You may not have caught it before posting. |
