I'm guessing a mount because his eyes aren't glowing. Nice dark background. Not sure I like the lighting.

I'm assuming this is a dead elk, though I had to look for a minute. I am personally not a big fan of split lighting and would like to have seen a little bit of the dark side of the elks face. A more Rembrandt approach. To show you what I mean (this'll seem a like a bit of shameless self-promotion, but it's not)
