My kinda-step-grandfather. I think he has a nice face to photograph. I got an off-shoe flash cord for Christmas, so I was testing it out on him. He was curious about how I was supposed to be lighting him if the flash wasn't pointed at him, so he kept intently watching what I was doing with the flash, which is what he's looking at in this picture. I had a few of him looking at the camera, but liked his expression better in this one.

The lighting is just a bit harsh on this. His face appears to be just a bit OOF. I love the use of the arm and the clasping of the pipe.

I like the pose, but I get the sense the WB is off and the background is distracting rather than complementing. I like the use of the pipe and his smile.

lighting too harsh, I can see his face in a black and white smoking that pipe on a dimly lit back porch though!
