 I ttok a walk around 'China Town' on Friday. While there I bought the two fans and a dozen of the little paper umbrellas. I got the anemones at the florist today. Set up and shot on a piece of Thai black inked paper....the front side this time. So if you thought the back was distracting, you're in full a real treat. None of the Friday shots really worked so....enjoy. Happy New Year!

Camera Raw adjustments in PSElements 6.0.
Clone bits of dust and marks on the front fan.
Cloned out two bits of toothpicks showing on the umbrellas.
More cloning on the front fan.
Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation.
Masked the still life subjects and the anemones.
Curves adjustment and Gaussian blur the background.
Selected inverse and curves adjustment.
More cloning on the front fan.
Adjust sharpness on still life subjects/anemones.
Just a bit more cloning on the front fan.
Resize.
USM.

beautiful items, and I like the set up, but the background just seems a little too busy and distracts from the subjects

Pretty, well-lit, but a little too catalog-y for my tastes. There's no real life in this, I'm afraid.

I would have enjoyed this much more without the small umbrellas because I feel their bright colors detract from the lovely greens. Still a beautiful image.
