 My son and daughter modeled for me (like troopers!). Backdrop was a white sheet, lighting was a Home Depot reflector light with a soft white 60 watt bulb. I hooked it up to a cheap mike stand. Not perfect but it worked okay. I set the camera ISO to +2. This was shot in my basement apartment. I actually oened the door at the top of the stairs to let in some light from the outside door.
I shot some of these in with the camera set to B&W but this one was shot in color and converted to B&W in Photoshop. I converted it back to RGB, adjusted the Brightness/Contrast a tad, and adjusted the color levels with Hue/Saturation.

I think this is a great shot! That's what I am, I dance in the evenings and I used to be a construction worker/truck driver...so that is totally me! Adding to my faves!

I think I would have liked this picture better if it was taken horizontally as opposed to vertically. It would also be nice to have their entire shoes in the picture.

I like much: Originality of opposite expression in this picture. - title - The soft lighting. - The choice of B&W. Composition. One of my prefered picture.
I like less: Folds in the linen piece.

Love your lighting. Special. The bottom crop/right crop are really tight. Still excellent focus, composition and that light is great. good work.

good idea... might be even better to show the entire persona of each model... a GI and a ballerina dancing would be intersting
