Yes she is my mother & thanks a lot for appreciating this image. I was knowing before submitting that this image is not having anything dramatic to get really very high votes but I like the simplicity very much. I think this is her best portrait I have taken until yet. She is laughing on some cracked joke & she is looking towards my father.
Just for a note she has recovered from some health problems recently. She is from Hindu community & the dot/Bindi is representing that.

Nice natural looking portrait. Something bothers me a little bit about the direction she's looking...I think there's not enough negative space at her right or something...Sorry I can't put my finger on it, but it's pretty good otherwise!

great portrait! perhaps one of the fews portrait where the persons smile. the point in the middle would have to mean of the Sikh religion. 10

Lovely lighting. She has beautiful eyes. I like the diagonal line created by her hand. A touch tight on the crop but a nice portrait.
