i'd love to see more than just his face. his surroundings, his hands, an expression, his personality, a certain motion.
imo you framed this to tight (or cropped in too tight in pp) and thus took him out of context.
he sure looks like he has a lot of stories to tell, though.

eta: this comments pretty much summs up my thoughts:

Wonderful portrait, you feel you could reach out and touch him. I also think it would look fabulous in b/w. Great work, Tareq.

This is superb picture. I feel it is better than mine.I am also pleasantly surprised that you took it with 60mm macro. I have imagined in my day-dreaming, what it would mean if I would take pictures with 60mm lens. It is perfect portrait focal length on APSC-format (450, 40, 50D).

Congrats on the 4th place.

Regards,
Vikram

P.S. I am just wondering how it would look in B+W. It should be wonderful!

Very good detail. I wonder if you have considered making this submission B&W as I can see a lot of texture around his face which could be revealed more in B&W. Color version is just too distracting, especially the OOF human face on the right, in the back ground. 7

Wonderful juxtaposition of the grizzly beard and the serene face. DOF really enhances the shot, but the crop on the left is just too tight.

Truly a contender for a ribbon. The light is managed masterfully. The composition is well done. The DOF is perfect. Color tones work well. The expression is great. You really have a masterpiece, here.
