Yep, there's a story behind this one...
On Tuesday, this giant glowing orb thing appeared in the sky. We were all a'skeerd, for we knew not what it was! After work, I jumped into my car, and drove around trying to find a good place to capture a picture of this orb, to document the occasion. A gentleman was out walking his large, well-fed dog, and they happened to be in the frame. The dog, however, is slightly below the horizon of the ground (it's a slight hill) and with his legs cut off like that, reminded me of a giant anteater. Hence, the title.
And yes, there are power lines. I was unsuccessful in getting them removed before the giant orb thing disappeared from view...
Duplicate layer in soft light blending mode and removed a lime green disk (possibly a UFO but most likely lens flare). |

| I like the extra stuff in the landscape but I'll critique your cropping... ;) Lose the bottom third to put more emphasis on the trees/man/anteater. Kinda like the "rule" of thirds but not really! |

brilliant shot deb and i loved reading your write-up ... that giant glowing orb sure does look scarey .lol.!! .. and yet that guy with the anteater seems amazing cool .. well that's from a distance of course and him being a silhouette and all .. now when i look closer it appears that the man might be running .?. altho its hard to tell with the anteater seeing i cant see his legs .. !!
considering these terrifying conditions it's amazing that you were able to capture such a stunning photograph .. the colours are beautiful .. i dont mind the power lines .. they're real .. :)x
