A barren, deserted look - for that reason, I think, is why the texture works well. The "old photo" look, as old photos are often in themselves forgotten and discarded, works well with these kinds of emotive subjects.

I seem to be wowed by a lot of your photos. Your processing is just phenomenal!

Wow - you've sure mastered the overlays thing. I see stuff like this all the time around here and never stop to take pictures, but now I feel compelled to after seeing this (and others).

Very brilliant - the perspective is outstanding, as well as your processing.

Your choice of wide angle and processing really make this shot great!

You make farm equipment look gooooood! I love the slightly rosy tone, and your border makes it look like a matted and framed print which is very cool! Very classy.

This is really good - the contrast between the sharp (new?) machinery and the old, weathered look your processing gives this is what I appreciate the most. On top, I am a fan of wide angle shots...

This is probably one of the best shots of farm equipment I've seen. You processed this really well to give this depth and light in all the right places, and I LOVE wide. Overlay and framing finish it off quite well. Really nice work here!

This is just outstanding. It certainly harkens back to the dust bowl. WOW - I love it. It's as if I'm flipping through an American History book and this is a photo illustrating the plight of the farmer that year. Excellent editing.

Nicely done Roger, I like the processing here. I so rarely like my red channel in BW conversions.

Very nice composition and processing. Looks almost like someone drew an arrow pointing to the house on what looks like a snow-covered pond. Landing help for the aliens ;-)

Beautiful subtle colour, and fantastic texture (again!)

Lovely mix of tones and textures Roger. Especially like the processing to the border - it adds to the aged look of the image. I think this would make a very nice print.

Processing is ideal for the image. The image itself is great... love the house and the mountain in the the middle and background... leads the image superbly around the image... and the farm equipment, with the marks in the soil... EXCELLENT.

This is very nice in composition and in processing. I like the distortion in the shape of the building on the left edge. It's interesting to me that the shot looks so old, yet the marks from the implement are still in the ground where it stopped. The field on the right looks almost like the edge of a lake or seashore.
