Calm down people. I was going through a rough time and tried to show my feelings through photography. I in no way contemplated killing myself. I value life way too much to do such a thing. |

The degree to which I HATE these images knows no bounds. It's not that I'm unaware of this issue but parading it around is really scary, in this type of forum. I mean we're talking suicide, in a competition for virtual ribbons.
The other issue is that this might a serious threat...I have no idea. If it is a cry for help...please get help.
On a technical note (a la DPC)...I really like the sharpness where you plan to have your entry wound BUT by including the point of exit would have added some drama and anticipation. Nice B&W conversion. 1

Ok, I had to come back to this. I first thought that was a molding on the ceiling, and then as I was clicking the vote button I realized it was a gun. I'm not sure what the statement here is, (Putting himself out of his misery is the only way to gain happiness?) but my vote just went way up on this for making me look again and give it some serious thought. |

Gotta say the shock value is there. I hope this is a setup. Assuming it is, the image is very impactful, but conveys the opposite of what you want for Christmas. I'm sure you'll get a ton of comments. |

Bizarre way to depict what you want for Christmas and a disturbing one. Hope you don't mean it. You certainly wont find "Happiness Eternal" that way.
Let me know if there is anyway I can maybe help with whatever the problem is. Please just don't ask me to give you a 10 for this image.

Woah, this picture certainly stands out, given the theme. Hope the gun wasn't loaded. |

this picture scares me...sorry no vote....I wouldn't wish that on anyone...not for Christmas...not for anytime.
****Redacted*****
------
I actually did give it a vote based on the technical qualities....I wish to change it based on the photographer personality qualities. Suicide or thoughts of suicide is not something to take lightly. At risk of getting another belligerant response I feel anyone that thinks this way should seek help. You submitted a photo expecting a response, you got one and you don't like the response.
Message edited by L2 - Please do not quote abusive PM's and also remember to vote on the photograph, not the photographer. .
[edit] Thank you, for the record, I said 'I wish' to change it. I didn't change it. It received my initial vote at the time of comment and based on the technical aspect of the photo as I viewed it. |

Not sure you'll score very high with this kind of humor, but I appreciate - and the photo itself is well done.
Happy Christmas ?

Needless to say, extremely powerful subject content. The lighting and depth of field make this perfect. |

good idea the focus on the eye, I don't like the B/W here, for this image I would a more dramatic B/W |

Hey! Now that's saying something. Being a person without belief in an afterlife I might have titled it Nothingness Eternal but this title is probably more powerful for the typical viewer. The shallow DOF through the face does a nice job in my mind of contrasting this moment's focus/intent with its confusion/chaos. It creates a very visual sense of cognitive dissonance.
Well, I can't wait to see the comments you get from this. BTW: Here is a side note regarding the suicide and holidays myth. To me it's not the number of suicides that matters at this time of year anyhow. I'm more troubled by how blithely people toss off reality in general to the point where anything unpleasant becomes taboo during the holidays.
Hats off to you for putting up something that will certainly make some people think. |

This is a really disturbing image - catches you unawares. Makes me want to ask if everyone is OK....
I hope this is just a general reminder to us that Christmas isn't a great time for everybody - a message worth remembering. |
