Awwww, such a cutie. Love the colors, the angles of the wood grain and cement, and just wish there were more shadow.

a frontal shot of the pelican against the blue background could have been more interesting. there is hardly any emphasis on the shadow, although that has been acknowledged in the title of this shot...

While there is a shadow here, I don't feel it actually adds to the shot at all.

I realise there's no way you could set a shot like this up,but I think it would have worked better with the bird at the right side of the frame looking towards the shadow. Obviously that doesn't help much but just my opinion :)
