Several times I have been meaning to comment on this and have failed. So here we go... I love this black and white conversion. It reminds me of something you might see in a jazz bar - it just has that kind of mood. I like the lights on the bridge. They fascinate me for some reason. No clue why lol. Good photo.

Wonderful capture of a wonderful scene. Shadows don't seem to be a prominent feature, but I love the light and composition.

Way cool - the moving boat idea is a good one! And I love the bikes, but the best part - the reflections under the bridge. Congrats on the Posthumous and the PostLumie nom.

I love this image and I think there is no way it should be down in 56th place. As for the shadow versus silhouette comments, most of the lower half of the image is in shadow! Nowhere in the brief did it say take a photo of a shadow produced by an object which sits in the way of the light cast by a discrete source.

Thank goodness for chromeydome and posthumous

Barred shadows on the water give me goose bumps. Lens and timing give this great feeling and depth.

lovely and dynamic. getting this shot in basic editing is a real achievement.

This is great! Reminds me of Henri Cartier-Bresson (and I hope his fans don't get bent out of shape by this comment). It's not the type of photo that typically scores well on DPC, but I think it's an excellent shot.

Nice subject. It feels like you have a touch of motion blur, but for some reason it adds to the shot for ome rather than distracts from it. Like this a lot.

My comment: perhaps there's confusion as to what's a shadow and a silhouette. I believe the bikes up on the bridge are silhouettes, rather than shadows. All said, it's a nice night shot, had the theme been 'Long Exposure' or 'Natural Light'.
