 This was shot at Old Silver Beach in Cape Cod, MA.
I tried about 20 shots at different ISO, Aperture and Exposure settings but I was not happy with any of the results.

Luckily I was shooting RAW which I don't do very often because I usually can't afford spending much time editing/converting photos.

So I opened the RAW image in Photoshop CS3 and I discovered the magic, who needs HDR anymore!

Yeah congrats on 13th place and the high score but I think this image would have been even better if the original was less-exposed, and so (what i'm assuming) when you recovered the highlights it didn't give you those strange grays and unnatural colors. But again, what do i know, the people liked it! Still obviously a beautiful shot

This is a very nice photo, but I almost like the original better. The PP is extremely heavy handed on this one. While that sometimes gives a surreal or dreamlike quality to an image, this one just looks overprocessed. IMHO of course..

But what do I know? 6.62 and 13th place. ;)

Another cartoonish looking shot that is very cool but kinda overdone lately. It doesn't look real to me and it's more about the beach then the sunset/rise.

something here doesn't seem right...the green on the stone...is saturation pushed to far?....maybe this is a HDR?
