Brought a little JOY to my MIL's first day of chemo. She's an awesome woman and I'm lucky she's a part of my life. She found out she has lung cancer and is now going thru some chemo in hopes that it will retard the growth of the disease. I think she looks pretty good right now and I hope that she will enjoy looking back at any photos I take of her during this phase of her life.

I love that, under these difficult circumstances, she is holding on to JOY. I wish her the best of luck and much more joy.

That's quite the look she has considering what she's going through. I love that twinkle in the JOY.

My prayers for a successful treatment & goodwishes too. JOY. Nicely done, simplely beautiful & clear as a bell. Love those eyes.

I hope everything goes well, and I look at this image and think 'Hope'. I love the little starburst in the middle of the JOY ornament, and agree with the others that it reminds me of a guardian angel. Best wishes to you both.

This is a lovely little way to bring positive thoughts and smiles to a tough battle ahead. A photo 'slice of life' that holds on to the idea & hope that both she and the family will be looking back upon with the thoughts "yeah, those were some trying times but with love, support, and family I made it here today". I really like the idea this strong lady is holding onto "Joy" with a smile that lights up her face. I hope that the chemo is a success.

Very, VERY nicely done. You've captured such dignity that is often lost during these hard times.

That is an intense thing to go through. She's a brave lady and you are a good DIL to be there for her. Love this shot - very emotional.

I like the twinkling star as a sign of hope. She starts a heavy road. Please keep making photos of her, with or without posting here (and if you both have the energy). I'm very sure she will enjoy looking back. Best wishes!

Wonderfully done Michelle! Fingers & toes crossed for a successful treatment! And though I'm sure she loved the ornament, YOU were her joy for going with her and helping her deal with this!

I feel for your mil Michelle and hope the chemo is a success. It always amazes me when I see a smile from a person going through such a troubling time. Good to see she's surrounded by loving family.

Hope and prayers to your MIL...she has such a lovely expression on her face. A real gutsy effort too I might add...with what she's going through...I'm sure you'll get some beautiful photos to share with her. Look forward to seeing more.

That was my first thought to Roz, it looked like her guardian angel shining out of the word Joy. Can you give her a hug from all of us here Michele.
