A little too out of focus at the front, but the graininess creates an interesting feel for the image.

Could be improved with less noise and the whole tube being in focus. Good effort though - I suppose you could just be focussing on the texture of the rust.

There's a lot of noise here. Did you add noise? You also have only a tiny portion of the photo in focus. Was that intentional? If not you should use a higher f stop next time.

The image contains an extensive amount of noise with the end of the tube out of focus. I would suggest using a lower ISO.

I like the effect? if one was used or is the tube merely out of focus...either way it's interesting.

poor depth of field, the square opening is the subject, or at least a makor part of it, but is way out of focus

I like the perspective, the rust color against the steel, lighting is good too.

It looks like the "tip" is out of focus. A bit more DOF would have captured it. It's a bit grainy, maybe a bit lower ISO. The texture from the rust blends in with the white background. A nice smooth background would have given you a good contrast and really made the rust, "Pop" out.

ooo this would be so neat if it was all in focus. good job

too grainy..

very grainy and noisy. distracting

You didn't follow the 2nd part of the challenge - "and then look for ways to compose an interesting picture around it".

I think I would like this better if the rectangular tube was at some other angle to the edges. I like that it is at an angle to the surface it is resting on.

I like the perspective.
05/05/2004 02:37:27 PM
cool angle, a bit noisy

The square pipe is interesting but the whole composition doesn't seem to say much. Focus/depth of field could be more refined. The image is very grainy--even the plain background!
05/05/2004 12:19:24 PM
too sharp and pixely
05/05/2004 10:19:37 AM
Don't think the graininess goes with this strong foreshortened perspective.

too noisy for me
