 Shot at Tennyson Down, on the Isle of Wight.

The sun just popped out of the clouds for a few minutes, I was hoping for a better sunset as the sun dropped below the sea but one minute after this shot the sun went behind the clouds and didn't re-appear!

3 RAW exposures 2 stops apart, merged in photomatix. Tone mapped and converted to tiff. Opened in CS3, applied a weak warming filter, cropped slightly as it wasn't well balanced, I'm not sure it's still quite right but I wanted to keep a lot of the shadow, keeping it all really didn't look right!

Cloned out a couple of sun flare spots, levels, selected the sea and sky and applied a curves adjustment, resize, convert to 8 bit, usm, save.

Prediction, 5.5.
Dream score, anything over 6 as I seem to be struggling recently to get over 6!

I like the mood in this picture, but I find the sun to be too bright. It's the first thing your eye goes to.

Very pretty. A bit more mid tone contrast might help the eye to scan the entire image without getting sucked into the sun so quickly.

It's all about the feeling. Sunrise is my favorite time of day, so I'm biased, yet this is a lovely composition with perfect placement of the bench and the sun.
