 I went to Targét last night. I bought three silver Slinky Juniors for a buck a piece, plus taz, of course. Now my current desktop background is Mezzo Largaramente . When I took one of the slinkys out of the box and saw how it took the color of the image and bent the colors every which way, I was hooked. Very fascinating. So I displayed the last edited version of Mezzo Largaremtne on my monitor. In front of the monitor I placed a pile of books the top one covered with a piece of aluminum foil, shiny side up. I positioned the slinky on top of the books and foil and took several different images at several apertures and shutter speeds. This was one of the first.

Shot with camera on tripod and cable remote using the only the ambient light of the computer monitor.

Post: Camera raw adjustments in PSElements 6.0. Layer adjustmemnts for levels, brigtness/contrast and hue/saturation. Crop....3x? Burnt the top corner of the bluish color in the background and healet two spots on it. Adjust sharpness. Resize. USM.

That's beautiful! Looks like a slinky, but I'm wondering how you got all those colorful reflections - very nice! I like the color saturation and the composition too.

What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs?
Macro is always tricky making sure the focus (DOF) is spot on. I find a remote release shutter is best as pressing the on body shutter button causes a lot of movement in a tight shot.
