 It's the "fly" of the persimmon fruit. Shot with the 50 mm objective reverse mounted to a 75-300 (hand held). Check out the tutorial here: //www.dpchallenge.com/tutorial.php?TUTORIAL_ID=81

Edited in Photoshop: levels to brighten up, curves to tone down the red a bit, selective desaturation on yellow, some burning and dodging on the fly part, some burning on the border. Noise ninja, resized, unsharp masking, border.

A stumper, so meets the challenge. Love the vignette. Colors are great. DOF is interesting. Split subjects and the implied lines are pleasing. Well done!

How interesting! Great colours. Looks like something edible, that bump with the fuzz makes me think that. Or it could be a glass sculpture/paperweight and the fuzz is dust.
