I love this. Absolutely beautiful. I love the tones and colors. I was just browsing flickr and oddly enough i found this photo: //www.flickr.com/photos/lenlangevin/2862473235/ which is weirdly similar. But i like this one much better. :) Awesome job. |

Congratulations on your well deserved blue ribbon. This is a stunning photo. The composition is absolutely great, the colour is gorgeous and subtle, and the link between the heart shape and the father and son is wonderful, even if it was simply a stroke of good fortune that they were there. I am glad you made use of the opportunity. I must add that I simply cannot understand the suggestion that you should have cropped the child at the waist. You have got this spot on. |

The top of this shot looks so much like a polaroid from one of my family vacations when I was a wee little brat. Not saying you did a bad job, please do not think that. Great capture. Congrats. |

A cliche and for good reason! I like the composition, I love the backlit adult and child, I think the colours reflected on the wet sand are lovely, and of course, the scraped heart works very well. |

The yellows aren't orange enough. This is an excellent time for complimentary color scheme. The yellow just seems to be a little bland against the strong blue. I like the band of blue dividing the yellow in two, but its also a bit bland. Maybe a half neutral density filter would have given more saturation in the upper part of the image, but Im not sure.
Another option is to crop just below the water for more impact on the heart.
I would have chosen to crop at the waist of the little kid. Just give a suggestion of the people playing in the water beyond. But thats a personal choice. The focus on the heart is great. But there are a lot of artifacts in the water that I would have cleaned up. This is advanced so I would have taken advantage of that. I wouldn't remove the ripples but the black specks. |

Very nice, great water sheeting and color, the double heart is very effective. |

wonderfully composed image - the feeling expressed by the father and child and the repeated theme of the two hearts makes the shot |

This is a great idea and a really nice photo - I think I would've loved it more if the yellow sunset was a pink or purple color instead. |
