| while I picture this to be a 3d object, the image seems very flat. I see where texture should be, but as I said, very flat. not sure how you could bring this out more. maybe side lighting? colors are interesting, althought maybe slightly dark. Focus and clarity are really good. nothing blurred that shouldn't be in my opinion. Overall definately abstract, just wish it had more depth. ~Heather~ |

| Your title may have taken away that sense of mystery, of discovery, the "What-IS-That- Thing" element.. I like it though |

Lovely textture and colour, however the knot seems a little too close to the center and the focus seems a little soft. 6

| Nice job capturing details and textures! Only thing I would have done is crop the left and right a bit tighter. If you lopped about an inch to an inch and a half off the right and maybe half to three-quarters off the left, it would direct attention to the knot more effectively. Good job overall. 7 |

| Very nice wood texture, and I think it works well as an abstract (I hope you are not getting a lot of I can tell what this is! Lovely colors and shapes. I like how the major line goes on the diagonal as well. |

| I think if the photo was closer and showed more detail on the knot it would be better suited for this challenge. It's a great picture! |
