 I took well over one thousand shots in attempt to get some shots like the AMAZING ones that IreneM has taken.

I got several close to hers... It was a very tough choice but i have to say that this is one of the coolest looking ones... it's not the same as her splash ones, but i relaly like how it looks... it actually looks fake to me... like a computer made graphic...

i'm not expecting a high score, i just figured i would enter it because I was planning on taking some drip pictures anyways...

All I did was put out a dish with water and blue food colouring and drip milk into it out of a little bendable rubber bowl... the camera was on a tripod and i used an IR remote to take the pics... getting the focus right is the hardest part... I don't have one of those expensive 90/100/105/150mm macro lenses... just an old 55mm MF nikkor lens I picked up on ebay for $30 (it was $30 for the lens WITH a camera too...) so the lens really only cost like $15... and I also used a short extension tube ($7 on ebay) for a bit more magnification... I had a SB-800 on an SC-29 cord from the left and an SB-600 on the right for lighting...

For this particular shot, only the SB-800 fired... which actually gave a pretty cool shadow effect...

I love how creamy and smooth this looks. Also I like the framing, how the drip is off to the right. Great Job!

Great composition and lighting and the drop os not only sharp, I can see a swirl of darker color around it's circumference. That adds a little something special to this.

I just saw another droplet entry and this has the wow factor that that one was missing. I like the off-center placement of the droplet and the shadows. My only nitpick is the small bubble/spec on the side of the first ripple, it's a little distracting, but is a minor thing and I think it's a really cool picture.
