Closing in on the rust, perphaps the bell and rope and the ropes and chains to the right of the rusty cogs might have been a better choice. Al thoughts textures interest me more than the bacground which is sort of lifeless and gray. nice focus...very good exposure.

I think less sky in the image would help to keep the viewer's eye on the rusty tackle.

The background steals too much from a lovely photographed foreground.

A 5.

I know the theme is rust but I love the big ropes.

Very busy subject area losing the concentration on rusted gears.

Interesting possibilities with your subject, but I think you should have changed the composition to eliminate the clutter. The shot is so "busy" that my eye doesn't know where to focus.

This looks like it has potential, but there is nothing that really draws my eye to focus on, in other words there are too many subjects, tighter crop with the bell at the top left third may have worked, mainly because the sail on the top left is making me look up at something that is not very interesting, instead of at the ropes, and really interesting stuff at the bottom right.

I like this shot. If I were to make any suggestions it would be to have tightened the shot on the rope/chains/bell. The rolled up sail in the upper left corner is distracting. It's kind of a grey day and the background is uninteresting. If you pulled in the shot you could have eliminated the sail, sky and minimized the background. Maybe positioned the bell in the upper left. But then agian I have no idea what you may have been avoiding below the photo.

Nice composition, perhaps a tighter crop would work even better, really zooming in on the rusted gears or pulleys. Still very good.

not rusted enough

I think your rusty subject is a bit lost in this picture, especially with the bright rope drawing the eye.
