I wasn't gonna enter this challenge, then by chance I came across this eerie little place. This padlocked chamber appeared to have 2 tunnels inside leading away on either side of the room, this room being under a hill and leading seemingly nowhere. Quite freaky. It was so pitch inside I could barely see a thing. The padlock was badly rusted, the place was obviously locked many years ago and left to rot. I'm submitting it 3 hours befor deadline as the more I look at it, the cooler I find it, even though I anticipate a 4.something score. I contemplated adding noise to the photo to increase the old look but in the end, decided not to. I hate noise in photos and rarely if ever think it improves a shot.
Edit: Cropped, resized, desaturated all channels except the red, burned the white stones at the front a little bit, unsharp mask and added a thin border. Felt it needed just a touch of defenition at the edges. |

Great subject. Might have liked it more in black and white. |

Cool. I fully expect to see a rabid creature come dashing out of the shadows to pull at the bars. |

I think I would like this better if it had been taken with the camera held lower. Perhaps a low angle shot to give the doorway/building a sense of ominous power rather than a plan pov shot. This is a little boring, imho, but it's technically sound and fits the challenge. |
