Greetings from the Critique Club
Your composition is strong -- following the rule of thirds gives the ring a strong and unique placement in the frame. The soft yellow tones throughout tie back to the image (I find the small bit of red/orange in the lower center pulls my eye to this part of the frame but there's nothing much to see so it distracts)
I think the light blue and white areas add interest to the composition -- without these the shot would be more of a "documentary" and have less interest for me.
To improve on the shot? The border color isn't found in the shot and so adds an unharmoneous color to the mix. Perhaps the ring as the main subject doesn't have enough interest (in shape or color or size) to hold a viewer (as some of the comments would suggest)

Lovely. So nice to see so much yellow. I am almost sick of orange, brown, red, and black after going through so many rust pictures. the light blue green and rose also art appealing. Excellent use of DOF.
