The blown highlights on the lady's cheek and shoulder is bothersome to me.

A simple shot as your title implies - down to earth and real. One almost wants to see more of her expression but really, his expression - very rapt and attentive - is a nice reflection of hers in a way. Now if we could only convince our random targets on the street to not wear silly t-shirts. :-) This is a good catch.

Focus in on the main subject by cropping off the edges of the image. They pull my eyes off the people. Also, while not easily done, if you captured her with the cup to her mouth it'd have added life to the shot. As it is, it's a pretty dormant image.

Wow I totally have that shirt.

I didn't like this shot at first, seemed boring. I've been looking at it for a few minutes and I do find the expression on the mans face interesting. It looks like he's getting some sort of bad news, or trying to fain interest in what she is saying.
