Yucky subject, but excellent macro. That's about the sharpest macro of a fly that I can remember ever seeing. This would be a great illustration for a textbook.
Too bad about the snake. Black snakes here are good because they keep the deadly snakes away, and they eat rats and mice. |

Great detail and colors. I too don't mind the harsh light, for this shot I think it helps define the fine details. |
